Is this the ability to grab two clips at their split point, and drag the split in either direction while the clip's edges automatically adjust?    I think it was originally a Layers feature, and I guess it was removed/changed with the introduction of Lanes.

I just installed X3 tonight so am still getting a grip on the new comp tools, but, can you do something similar by grouping clips?

Hum, I got an automated reply from Cakewalk Problem Tracker saying:
- "The problem you are experiencing is most likely a system specific problem or a configuration issue that we believe can be resolved with assistance from Cakewalk Technical Support."

Not the answer I was hoping for! I don't at all believe that this is a system specific/configuration problem and I'd rather not call overseas unless it's absolutely necessary. Perhaps I worded my report poorly? What should I do?

Probably human error. I'll follow up.

I'm still not sure if this borders a feature request or a bug, but regardless I have an internal conversation going on about it. No need for an extra report at the moment. In the meantime I'd definitely suggest using the Comping Tool on a lane for this type of gesture as it's much more accurate of a tool (at least it felt much more easy to work with in my personal opinion).

Yes!

It was gone when Take Lanes were introduced in X2. I filed a report and the functionality was reintroduced in X2a.

That's what I'm doing now! The hotspot for the tool is easier to find and grab hold of in the new lanes, which is great, but I'd still like the ability to work this way without having lanes displayed, like the way it used to be!

Cool.   If it can be re-introduced in the main track it could be convenient.  Since only audible clips are now displayed I guess it would adjust those clips in their respective lanes.  So a +1 from me.
