Hello Everyone,

I have an weird issue going on here.   I have a kick drum mapped to key 36 (which is C3).  However, in my Battery 4 plug in, I have to set the kick drum to receive it's note-on messages via C1, not C3?  There's a 2 octave mismatch.  You can see the screenshot below.

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out why this would be?

Thank You,
Adam

Maybe this will help from http://www.cakewalk.com/D...logs2.073.html#1175826

There is no industry standard for numbering octaves. By default, SONAR calls MIDI note 0 (the lowest possible note) C0. The Yamaha FB-01, for example, shows MIDI note 0 as C-2 (C negative 2). To match SONAR to that standard, set Base Octave to –2.

Thank you for the response, I understand.   Do I set this base octave in my plugin or in Sonar?

That is your choice, if you make any adjustment at all. Can't the drum map can handle it without changing either the synth or SONAR? It is a global setting in SONAR.

Sure, i could manipulate the drum map, but then it still won't match, I want to see C1 in BOTH.
I will play around later with the global setting, but i really don't want to ruin my mappings in other software either.

Thank you!

You can set the In & Out independently for every note in the Drum Map, but it's not as neat as simply changing your base octave I agree
