Before I go ahead and install X3 here... Anyone know if X2 and X3 can both be installed on the same Windows 8 system?

Thanks,

Yes.
Sonar (any version) is installed to a folder bearing its own name into the Program Files/Cakewalk directory tree for 64 bit version or Program Files (x86)/Cakewalk for the 32 bit version.

Yes, I've got X1, X2, & X3 all on my computer for reference checks. No problems at all.

One thing to point out - if you have any templates, step sequence files, etc, you will need to either copy them to the Sonar X3 directory under cakewalk content, or look for them in Sonar X2 directory.

Otherwise, multiple versions of Sonar on a system is no problem at all.

Heh, I uninstalled X2 Essential and lost my Session Instruments.....(whaaaa...) So, I put it back. The Wurlitzer in SI Electric Piano is pretty good.

can and should!
just remember, if you ever reinstall x2 for whatever reason, you WILL need to do a clean install of x3 because of the changes to shared utilities, etc.

I just reinstalled x1-x3 clean with all patches and it went swimmingly. My studio laptop only had x2&x3 on it so i did the whole kazoo. No issues.
