@Stevec - was it reported in X3, can you remember?  I remember something about the multidock, but this happens if the plug is docked or not.

It is a minor issue, I can cope with an extra mouse click.   I would just like to know why it is happening now.  Dan Gonzalez is being very good and offering suggestions via P.M.
 
I just don't like the idea of something unexplained happening.  I only noticed it after installing X3, but that is not to say it didn't appear earlier and I have only just picked up on it.  It only affects plugs in the FX chain module, on any project, new or old, sparse or dense.  And it seems to be happening in X2 as well.
