No need to EVER uninstall any previous version.
 
I still use vsampler from version 4.
 
I have some old, still in process, projects with dp le, and rapture le.
 
When setting up every new comp I install at least the previous version's effects and instruments into different "shared folders."    For some stuff, I copy the latest versions to the primary shared folder.
