After building
this I needed to create a tune that used the bottom octave. So I downloaded an 808 kick library and found myself a good sampler plugin that would pitch match the samples,
TX16WX, and made this tune:
https://soundcloud.com/paul-graves-1/dance-sucka While it sounds good without a sub, it really kicks your butt with 30-40Hz content on a good sub (mostly 41Hz E with a 32Hz C section). If you're not as obsessed with deep bass as I am, just listen for the groove and the live tracked funk bass, my specialty.
Many of the samples are from my own acoustic drum kit, just triggered from MIDI with the sampler. I used a couple other soundfont sets as well for the percussion and what not. The rhythm guitar is live tracked and looped, and the bass is straight recorded with a few edits but no loops.
edited "grove" to "groove", don't listen for the trees that bear fruit :)
