I heard it was whiskey that saved civilization (by preventing the Irish from taking over the world). 

Speaking of the Irish, we recently read a book called Black Potatoes (The Story of the Great Irish Famine 1845 - 1850) by Susan Campbell Bartoletti. Although it's a young adult's/children's book, the story is quite compelling and showed true courage & strength of the Irish people.   
 
How do you like the book so far Baps?

Digging it Mesh. I'm about 2/3 through it. Fairly quick read given that it's mostly about ancient history and tradition.
