Sound is disappearing now and then. This also happened sometimes with X2 but not nearly as often. More with X3 though. For instance when I click "FX" to enable / disable all effects. It seems to happen as a consequence of other actions too. I have not spent any time trying to pinpoint exactly when / how this happens.

Usually saving and quitting and re-launchin X3 will work as a go around. Time consuming though and I'd prefer this to be fixed. I have not experienced this problem with any other audio applications / DAW's that we are using on this computer.

Is this a known problem and is it confirmed by the developers as being an issue that is taken care of?

What interface and driver mode? Sounds like ports getting closed when SONAR resets after changing plugin delay compensation or possibly a plugin going silent. X3 uses a new model for streaming audio through plug-ins and playing FX tails so that would likely explain a difference between X2 and X3. Try toggling the state of "Always Stream Audio Through FX in Preferences > Audio > Playback and Records (enabled by default), and see if it makes any difference. You might also try narrowing it down to a specific plug.

I had this happen to me but it happened in a project that was being affected by a bug that would not allow a UAD plug that was in the FX bin after any VST3 plus.

Noel believes that he has discovered the root of that problem. I can not say they are related but my hope is they are.

Thomas, are you using VST3 and/or UAD plugs?

P.S. I have never had this happen in X2a.

WHen playing around with X3 and this BT Temo Delay, I was also using Fabfilters equalizer. In another project I just ran I had sveral plugins including Fabfilter but VT tempodelay was not producing clicks... So I'm not sure when/how etc... Maybe there are some initial glitches with X3.

I really like X3 though and the nice big new Pro Channel EQ screen is great. Also projects seems to load quicker and I'm sure this will be another great Sonar X version. I've been using X3 since I got it a few days ago and haven't encountered any crashes etc.

I also see that the midi editing PRV has been imropoved - now the vertical cursor / dotted line really represents the real start of the midi note and making fine adjustments a whole lot easier! So thanks to the devlopers!

If it was happening in X2 and in X3 ,then its not an X3 problem.

Its most likely and audio driver setting or a sound card problem or a system (PC) problem or all the above or 2 out of 4 or 3 out of the 4.

I use Fabfilter EQ's all the time and they never interrupted playback for me over the 2 years i have been using them
