I managed to get X3 installed last night and decided to open it and take a look. I forgot about all the setup procedures and didn't have time to go through them so I closed it without going through everything. Now when I open it I get a message that says:
Cannot open MASTER.INS No instrument defnitions will be avaliable.
Maybe I did this maybe not, in any case I need to know how to fix it. It did take me three trys before I could get it installed. First time it said that part2 was corrupted, secong try part4 was corrupted. Third time it installed. Also when I tried to go ahead and open this AM I got a message telling me that BFD has crashed twice lately but I have not used BFD lately and do not remember any crashes. It wanted to save about the crashes on my desktop, so I did that. I suppose I should send those to FXpansion and not Cakewalk?
Now the VST scanner hangs up on BFD Eco. It told me it detected virtual files or something and what to delete under AppData Virtual Store etc BFD, so I closed X3 and deleted what it told me to. It said to restart BFD 2, I have BFD Eco and I restarted it from the desktop icon, the stand alone I guess. It started up just fine but I am not connected to my sound card/interface si it detected no ASIO but that has never been a problem when just taking a look at things. When I connect the Octa-Capture or other interface, it sees it and configures. I just want to take a look around... so what do I do about the MASTER.INS ? I can delete it and reinstall if I need to but if I do I want to be sure to not lose any VSTs or other things that may have been picked up from X2. I don't want to turn a bump in the road to a crater. I did get X3 registered. I am going to restart it and try again. If I continue to have problems I will connect the OC and try again. Will check back about the MASTER.INS
Thanks,
Julien
