Hi jbow
From where I'm not sure because I thought I had downloaded all files that were listed last night when I started downloading. Kinda thinking Cake needs to have some better documentation on how to get Addictive Drums up and running.

I agree. Let's make this better.

Your computer isn't going to explode if you hook it up for a few minutes to register software from a reputable site.

I recently bought the Addictive Keys Studio Collection. You must setup an account to register on their web page. Once you register you will be able to download the installer. Once it is installed get off the web. It will run fine off line.

Bill, really appreciate you checking on the forum on a SUNDAY!!! Edit: Oh, and Ryan, too!

OK, then it's back to Dim Pro for drums for us.

@paulhcp: "It works quite well..."
Native Instruments introduced their online installer when we upgraded from FM7 to FM8. It used Flash and installing it broke the standard flash player, requiring (IIRC) downloading new versions of flash player and manual changes in the registry.

Lost time, billable to no-one.

We reverted to FM7 and as of that day, not only do we not have an internet connection on our production machines, we even run a test PC where we check all updates and new products.

You may want to check the version to see if there is an update as well.

Thanks Ryan..

I went back into the download section of the store, I don't see any download link for Addictive Drums, so my guess is that it's a download from the XLN Audio website?  But even then I still down have any kind of registration key listed in the store. I have a serial number but that's it.

According to XLN Audio it's only necessary to have the computer online during the installation procedure.
After that you can pull the plug. If that helps someone.

You download their installer and run - it asks for the serial that you got from the bakers.
That starts installation of both their "handler" and Addictive drums.
If I remember correctly...

By the way - in the Cake store it's only a document with instructions.

There is a document ( 5_XLN_Audio_Addictive_Drums_Download_Instructions.rtf  ) that is included with the SONAR X3 Producer downloads. Basically it says this:

-----
XLN Audio Addictive Drums Installation Instructions:

The XLN Audio Addictive Drums is included with SONAR X3 Producer purchases, however it is available as a separate download from XLN Audio.

To download XLN Audio Addictive Drums please go to: http://www.xlnaudio.com/install and enter your Product Key.

Your product key can be found on the following web page and will also be emailed to you: http://www.store.cakewalk.com/default.asp?reg=1
-----

I think we can make it more helpful though, but ultimately that's what you're supposed to do to get it installed.

I'll never understand why people won't connect their puters to the internet for short times. I get the idea of not wanting the puter on the net but never? To each their own I guess.
