Big thanks to Cakewalk for giving us in Europe the "right" price this time too and not just replacing the $ with a €

I'm in...

frankly I'd be in for the Gobbler and Melodyne integration alone, but the new comp feature looks great too.

My only thing is which version - I've used the producer version up till now, but the new content leaves me surprisingly cold. But that's as much a function of being an old fart that has already picked a lot of tools, and become comfortable with them as anything else. I sympathize with the bakers - they have to keep coming up with ways to make their newest product sparkly<G>! Ironically, in some cases I already own the tools, in other cases I've tried them but settled on alternate solutions.

There are two unknowns this time around - have they fixed any of my long-standing bugs? Usually they have addressed some of them.

I did a quick search and saw nothing about control data linking to notes, probably my biggest gripe, but I didn't find it. I hope they fixed this!

The other looming question is what will happen as a result of the pending acquisition... but I've decided that the Gobbler and ARA bits are worth ending up with an orphan because I'll get at least a couple of years out of it no matter what happens, and that's worth $150 to me.

Let's see how their servers are doing<G>...

I'm downloading too. I wish Cake would come up with a download manager or something that would allow the download to continue where it left off if the connection goes down.

Also the part2 file does not display its size so Firefox can't give an estimate on the download time.

I guess I'll go to bed and hope its ready in the morning.

Hi Samuel

Just out of interest, what did you get charged in Euros?

We got charged £119 (GB Pounds), which definitely does not equate to $149

£119 at current conversion rates is actually around $192

Even if they are adding on a further 20% VAT (our current rate) above the registered price, it should still only be $178.80, or £110.80.

And if VAT is being added on top of the advertised price, I believe it should say so.

I don't believe this is very fair at all, but what do I know.
