Thought I'd post an instrumental track off of our new album that was released today.
The Inward Quest (Part 2 of the Giza Necropolis)

Pretty shimmery, certainly very clean. the guitars have a kind of pristine quality and are distinctly separate in the mix - good job!

I like the bass (or is it a bari guitar?) once it came in. Overall, I'd say the upper frequencies are getting a lot more attention and focus than the lower ones - the bass as such has an upper midrange-y tone to it, and I kind of wanted more heaviness in the bottom end to anchor all the clarity I heard up top.

Still, you guys are up to something good here. Good luck with the new album! I was in the Bay Area for about 15 years and played a bunch of clubs that likely exist no longer. But that's another story.

cheers,

Thanks Emerald, Yea that was an old Ibanez bass I believe. Just some new strings on it.

First things that I thought of was Set the Controls.

The bottom end weight sounds about right here, thanks for sharing.

Dig it.  Listened to some of the other tracks as well.  The spoken bits are a fun contrast (like on Refraction.)  I'm just down the road in San Mateo so love to see the local connection.

Weird... I could have sworn I'd seen another I.R.D. song post, and I commented, or at least I thought I did. Perhaps it was late and I listened to some stuff on your bandcamp page and then forgot to return here.

Ah well... Here I am

I've decided to listen to your SoundCloud version instead, so I can at least express my "like."

cheers

Hey, that was pretty cool.   Interesting vibe, for me somewhere between "world" and "surf".

I do agree with Emerald that the bass could use a little more bottom/rounder tone just to fill things out a bit.  Or maybe played mostly an octave lower...
