Thanks for the quick response man!

No Blades, it makes no sound or reaction whatsoever when I plug it in. I just tried it on my other computer (XP) - same result. The power was on, yes. I just now went and bought a new USB cable. Same results (no reaction by Windows). I think I have to return the unit. Does anyone think I should exchange it for another of the same item? I'm not confident it will be any different.

Blades,

I just wanted to pass along a Big Thank You!

I have doing a lot of research on what controller I was going to use. Thanks to your videos I decided to save some cash for now and go with the BCF2000. It worked like a charm! It did take a little bit to figure how to load the Device driver. I stumbled around till I found the update utility.

Once I had all that, I followed your video and boom I was up and mixing in about 15 min. Awesome!!!!!!!!!! I played with it for about 4 and 1/2 hours last night and man its like night and day! I don't have to keep looking to the keyboard. It helps me feel like I'm back in the old days. Setting in front of the mixer and just enjoying the process. Hell if I did not look at the clock I would have stayed up a lot later just because I was having so much fun!

Thanks again!

Great Job!

Awesome - good to hear. Thanks for the feedback. I'm puting my personal website back together and will be including these and a number of other Sonar introductory videos as well, so I like to hear that things work for people.

I ended up sending the unit back and ordered the same unit, in white this time. My computer is white :)

This one worked on Vista...works very good. Thanks for the tutorial Blades!

Although I have no idea what "plugin" mode does. Or "Dyn" mode. Or the "Select" button, or the "Marker" button", or the "Edit" button" that all apear on the Mackie Control Mapping cheatsheet thing.

So - I have updated the location of these videos as noted in the first post of the thread.  They have been relocated to be linked directly from my site.

Check in the Sonar section for these two videos and a number of other ones as well.

Thanks, Blades. I got my BCF2000 up and running easily, as well as my Frontier Design Tranzport, (a must for most DAW owners.) My problem is the sheer depth of Sonar. I might have to watch your "time shifting" video a few times, but at least I have it bookmarked. I am finding Sonar (8.3 PE) to be the single most technologically challenging endeavor of my 60 years. Wish I had gone for Reaper. Thanks for making the vids.!

I do find videos inconvenient for many reasons. A simple text explanation would be easiser, quicker, simpler to read and reference when you need it.

JazzSinger - everyone learns in different ways.  I created these videos because there IS much in the way of text explaination around the forums (look for the excellent posts by JesseG and others), but there still seemed to be a lot of the same questions out there.

Now both ways exist and there has been great feedback in all the related threads.
