An old Sonar user - I gave up after 8.5 and migrated to Cubase, so I'm a little behind.  Is there anything like Quick Controls integrated into Sonar X3 with EuCon support?  Would need some ability to control midi CCs via EuCon in order to consider going back to Sonar.  Thanks for any info.

Lil' bump.  I'm presuming there's been no extra functionality, but just checking before I disappear off until X4.

I don't know specifically what "Quick Controls" refers to on the EuCon control surface. I know we didn't update the control surface plug-in fro EuCon for X3, but we did for X1. I've used it in SONAR X2 (I haven't tried X3 yet) but it should be the same experience.

This is the latest version: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013271

If you really wanted to give a test, you could install the SONAR X2 Trial (here: http://www.cakewalk.com/products/sonar/web-trial.aspx) and see if the functionality you're looking for is present in that version of the EuControl plug-in.

If you can give me a specific example of what you're trying to do I can take a stab at it tomorrow when in the office.

Thank you, Ryan.  FYI, Cubase's Quick Controls are 8 different parameters which are accessible via EuCon, including midi CCs. AFAIK, it's still the only DAW on the market that can do this.  On an Avid Artist Mix, you just press and hold the EQ button, and then you're in the right mode.

I'd be interested in returning to Sonar at some point in the future, but this feature is essential to me (alongside good workable very narrow tracks for large projects and strong video support).  Maybe X4? :-)

I'll see if there's a similar feature when in the office this week. I'm not sure off the top of my head.

I think SONAR has good real-estate with tracks but I know that can be a bit subjective at times. Taking subjectivity out of the equation, I've seen a lot of users upload pictures over the years counting pixels etc. SONAR 8.5's UI is obviously very different though.

My solution for good real estate in general (for every program I use)? Super high resolution display :)

Better (I should say more modern) video support is slated for an update to X3. I don't know all of the specifics yet.
