Did I miss the X2b announcement? I do not want to spend anl upgrade price on X3 if the stuff from X2 is not fixed. I would have to get a significant discount to get X3. I hated X2 but upgraded before knowing that becuae I thought I was a cakewalk loyal customer.

Here's what Cake is looking at...

They reduce the Dev Cycle to 1 year...

They get PAID to fix the problems that they 
created in the first place..it's MATH and MONEY...

Why fix stuff for free that you can get PAID to fix?
 
AND they get your upgrade money once a year instead
of every 2 or 3 years...

What do you get?  Well you get a bunch of new 3rd party
stuff that you probably already have anyways...
and all the bugs that were in your current version should
be fixed, but you also get a whole slew of new ones...
and they get more money...sounds like a typical corporate
decision to me...

What's unfair about that?

back in the day cw was a different company. there was a dialogue with power users like us...
 
now, no dialogue, just "we don't care, we sold ourselves to gibson, now. wheee..."
 
sad but true. i still love sonar, but i find myself hating the company. i too want x2b with bug fixes long before x3, but that's not what i'm a gonna get. 
 
so i, and others, have a choice: stay with x2a, or pay cw more money for the honor of beta-testing x3, which also won't be fixed, because x4 is already in the pipeline...

I want the bugs fixed in X1, 8.5.3, 8.0, 7, 6, 5, 4......
 
In case I need to re-install for any reason.

What if it is fixed?  What I mean is, there may well be a trial version which you can use to evaluate whether or not it's worth the money to upgrade. 
 
That's what I'm hoping for personally.  For sure there will be no further X2 upgrades, so it's just not worth mugging yourself over that.

I think I can recall one time when they issued a fix for a previous version after a new version was announced.  Maybe X2a users will get an update at some point.  

I suppose there's always the chance...I'm not going to hold my breath though :-)

And I want a lollipop for free!
