Conley,
I was making a generic statement based on observations from a decade in this forum that I believe to be true.
There are SO many variables in different software/hardware setups that can take the train off the tracks. And it could be so benign that no other symptoms point to it.
I've had a machine that drove me out of my mind over a bad vid card (and I put machines together for living at the time). And I replaced it because it failed at a later point and BAM... all the issues I had went away. So, it is possible, that a component or other program causes issues in Sonar. That said, I don't discredit what you say, but if <10% of users have a specific issue, it logically points to a certain scenario or configuration. And what any of this does NOT do is eliminate your frustration.
And for some reason, AMD built systems never did seem to work as well for me as did Intel based systems. I think in part because Cake has a good relationship with Intel and has worked with them closely over the years.
My 2 cents.
I agree totally. I remember when there were testers having toruble with the Matrox drivers also the Delta1010 drivers. I helped a lot of users getting the delta bets drivers posted only for our group so we could test it here with Pro Audio before they got released. Believe me I understand the driver issue. Thanks for the clarification! I appreciate it.
To those who think I may be trollin or purposfuly spreading H&D, I have been a loyal and diehard Cakewalk fan, user and past tester. I have even gotten quite a few people to jump on the Cakewalk bandwagon which resulted in a few sales for the company. I used to hold user seminars here in the Houston area for the SONAR users. Don't hate me because I publish my thoughts and experiences. If you don't like it, you can bypass reading. If others feel like they have to chime in and beat their chest for SONAR and belittle my experience, go for it. You will not change my experience with the product, which should be what this forum is about. If you have some constructive information, I would love to have it. Getting personal, name calling, etc... really makes this forum not worth it. It used to be a nice place to hang out.
