I haven't bought it yet so I can't comment on functionality or stability. But having done the rounds at the IMSTA show today I can definitely say that X3 is the best looking DAW out there, in comparison to FL, Cubase, Studio One, Ableton etc. It's nothing short of eye candy with the new colors...well done!

For me the Sonar X series is one of the worst looking DAW software out there. I saw the screenshots on FB earlier this PM and couldn't believe that X3 actually looked worst than its predecessor. As much as I intensely dislike the colour blue, I'd still prefer S1 over it.

It almost look as if Fruity Studio got into a crash w/ Reaper - under Windows ME. ;)

That being said, my own aesthetic sensibility never agreed with Cakewalk's.

PS - I'm not all that excited about Logic's new look either...

I with you sharke. From the vide and screen shots I have seen, X3 looks much better with colors.

Thanks for that, Larry! :)

Geesh, the fact that I never really liked how it looked never prevented me from using Sonar. It's a pretty superficial concern and never actually prevented me from making music with it and enjoying it.

Amen to that...

I don't care much for Reaper, or FL Studio, or many of the programs I use regularly...
It's mere Aesthetics...not function...the CORE and usability is where it's at...to me..

Obviously wasn't superficial enough, or this thread would cease to exist.

Why is that those with "opposing" points of view are
BERATED...as I stated earlier, it shows the childish mentality
of many of the members of this forum

Seriously gentlemen....let everyone express their opinion...in kind...
and be kind in return..NOT sarcastic...
