Hmm,

Sure everyone has a right to an opinion - we get that. Constructive criticism, no problems.

But c'mon - you don't get to minimize something as superficial in the same post you knock it as the worst - that's a tautological no-no. (Hence the snarky notation of it). (Short version: you don't get to sit on both sides of the fence...)

No personal animus, but I recall Rain flaming away not all that long ago, not sure where that could be describe as 'little'..

I'm not big on colors but I like them, it's makes organizing tracks easier. And no getting around it was one of the most requested items since the X series debuted.

No personal animus BUT you recall... Voilà! Here we go!

Yes you and I did get in an argument - which started much like this, now that you mention it.  IIRC, it ended with the both of us agreeing to shake hands and move on. And now, this... Constructive criticism, my arse.

In my post above, I made unimportant aesthetic remarks about a piece of software because this thread was all about just that. Yes I do get to say what I think and call it unimportant - that's called being able to put your opinion into perspective. I post an opinion on a forum - I'm not transcribing holy scriptures.

If you see that as sitting on both sides of the fence, oh well... Apparently, you're the only one who process what I said as such.

Sharke and I get along great. CCLarry, John, and all the other guys - same. They all appreciated what I said for what it is worth - that is, next to nothing. We're all friends, we discuss stuff, even trivial things, we disagree all the time, and don't put each other on trial all the time. It's great, I tell you...

When X1 one came it was a bloody revolution, yes I know bakers took bits from other apps but it also influenced other apps too and even forced some developers to step up / make game changers. Simple docking or undocking of windows, collapsible / expandable, see downstream in inspector instead of scrolling to bus - ya da ya da ya da, BRILLIANT. However, the major thing missing was COLOURS (yes I'm British folks and Colour has a U).

Panu (or is it Panup???) sold / distributed skins to many many users  to get around this hurdle because they wanted it, needed it or lost it between 8.5.3 and X1. Sorry Panu(p) I don't know where this leaves u, or Benstat and Sonar Plus for that matter???

It is without doubt much easier to know where the drum or guitar channels end and vocals begin with colour and not just the name in the name field. I mean just look at the vids, you can clearly see from gain input / trim to output what you're working on. Busses too will be much easer to identify. Especially if you need to scroll. (We can't all have xx" monitors).

Yes, you can have track icons, but a colour group is much,  much easier. I don't wanna watch team a game on a "24 screen and have to identify by face or name/number on shirt - I wanna know YES, RED has the ball or, oh no, now BLUE does. It the same thing for a lot of things in life, we can easily associate colours with something and separate them.

Lame example - class photo with your teacher, is it the face that stands out in the front row or that he / she's not wearing them same uniform / gown as everyone else.

P.s........ I'm helluva drunk tonight. what's BLUE look like?? ha ha ha

Maybe not THAT old, but I realize that I do prefer earlier incarnations of many many DAW software. I prefer Pro Tools before version 8, Logic circa version 6 or 7, Sonar around the time of Sonar 6 or 7... Maybe I'm just too inclined to nostalgia. :P

What I meant to say in a lot less words was....

Yes Sharke, Sonar is back to being the sexiest DAW going, and when I wake up with another hangover tomorrow (been to family party), I will own that pretty thang ( or at least a piece of her divided by the user base).

Uh, that sounds very X rated
