I love my workflow in Sonar, I mean I really, really love it. I understand it and somehow the development team at Cakewalk seems to understand how I think a program should work because many times when using the X series I will think "if I developed this I would provide..." and I test it out and voila it's there. It's eerie.

But when it come to the cosmetics of the interface I have to side with Rain. FL meets Reaper.

Short of showing us your moderator badge, you have the option to take a break from this thread and or this forum. You don't get to tell me what I can and cannot say ever - and after what you just said, I do hope that it annoys you to no end.

Nobodies denying you anything - I control nothing here. You're welcome to take a break too.

And yes, deliberate BS annoys me....although I highly prize the tongue-in-cheek variety....

I not record, mix and masterize with eyes, but with ears.
So, is so much more important for me the tools that the DAW program put at my disposal, the stability and facility of obtain results that the DAW program can give me, than if it can put colors in tracks, have an elegant visual, etc.
Only my 2 cents.

McGurk effect, very cool!
I've always liked the way Cakewalk DAWs looked. X3 is looking even better. Better visuals help the engineer for sure, but I can  also  you tell from the standpoint of someone who runs a professional studio, clients and their friends love watching the music on the monitor and a better looking DAW makes them feel better about their decision to go with your studio on a subconscious level I'm quite sure.

I don't understand this thread. Why would anyone complain about having options to change colors? When X1 was released I was forced back to 8.5. The GUI for X1 was a disaster and if it were not for Sonarmods, I would never have been able to use either X1, let alone X2.

Rain is cool. I disagree with him a lot but not because he is boorish. He is one of the few Mac people that actually has a brain.
I like the look of X3 too.

LOL Thanks, John.

Actually, I managed to retrieve tons of old Cakewalk projects from a bunch of old hard drives during our last trip back home. At first, I entertained the idea of slowly re-building them in Logic, but considering how much work that represents, I'm now thinking that maybe it'd be a good idea to grab a little inexpensive PC to run Sonar X and access the projects in their native format. For some reason, I prefer that option to BootCamp. I'd be like an honorary PC user I guess... :)

All kidding aside that is a good idea Rain. Take care my friend.
