Howdy, y'all. As I've stated here previously I've been doing recording for years using real instruments, with the exception of Session Drummer and EZ Drummer. As such I'm a total newb with soft synths.
I'm trying to help my sons use Spark Dubstep in X2, but it seems to be kind of counterintuitive. Can someone elaborate on how one imports a file from Spark into Sonar?
Thank you in advance. I'm always amazed at the depth of knowledge that's floating around on this forum.

Spark Dubstep is a plugin isn't it?  What are you trying to do exactly?  Can it export audio files?  If so, just drag the exported file from Windows explorer into the track view.

Are you trying to record its MIDI output into Sonar?  If so, you need to enable its "Send  Midi From Pads" &/or "Send Midi From Sequencer" options.  Then add a MIDI track to record its output, setting the input to the output of Dubstep Spark.  Enable input echo and arm recording on the MIDI track then you should be good to go.

That's my best guess, I'm not sure what you're trying to do exactly and I don't have the plugin, I just gave its manual a quick scan.

Ston, sorry it took so long to reply. As soon as I get a minute I'll try your suggestions and let you know how it went. Thanks for weighing in.

If you are talking about loading the midi pattern from the vst step sequencer too sonar, if you go down to the bottom level of the vst, where the kits are etc, you will also see a section with midi patterns , and you can quite simply drag into sonar from one of the little boxes /pattern dialogue boxes which go down in a row on your vst, not sure about audio, as I only use midi for this as its more flexible to edit after.

Just bare in mind a lot of times sonar when using drag and drop midi, more often than not will drag to the wrong track or add a new one for it, it finds it hard to drop it on the track you intended, but no problem overall, just then drag back to the intended track.
