Roland's reason for share transfer to Gibson (and shares/finances)

All this negative stuff about X3, and it has not even been released yet..!
Crazy....

Yep, I agree, lets just wait until the product is released to see whats in it; what it will be priced at and how many 'bugs' will be fixed.

And lets wait to see what kind of issues we will encounter with the 'new' division now (or will be) selling the Sonar product(s).

But I must admit that some of the comments and threads about the proposed purchase of Cakewalk are .....how should I say it ...."interesting'; if not down right funny!

I reached out to a few to see if we could help resolve their issues and discuss their thoughts. They wanted no part of it.

it would have been easier to herd cats or teach a pig to sing

Let 'em have their bashfest! When X3 is finally here they'll be drooling over it, wishing they had it. My prediction is some of the haters will even buy X3, assume a new identity and talk about how awesome it is!  All joking aside it's so childish to hate and bash something that hasn't even been released yet. Sheesh! Give it a chance. I think this is going to be the best release yet including many fixes.

Jeez. About a third of that thread is a couple of guys going through an off-topic acrimonious nerd-divorce in public. The amount of it that's actually about X3 is pretty small.

I've been over to the Studio One forum this morning fighting the haters.  There was a 'Wow' thread (re. the Gibson acquisition) and it drew some nasty childish posts when normally the S1 forum is quite civilised.  I have Studio One as well as Sonar and enjoy using both, although if I have some MIDI in a project and I'm using my external synths and drum machines it's Sonar every time as S1 was written primarily for audio and MIDI is not well catered for.

Curiousity got the best of me and I didnt see any thread titles blatent about it, I didnt go further to scour the actual posts looking for them.Unlike the aformentioned "place" where it sticks out like a sore thumb.

And that's why I don't create an account on those types of general audio sites and rarely visit them unless I'm doing a specific search on something. Too much anger, speculation, bad info, trolling and outright viciousness. Shame though because there do seem to be some very smart and helpful people amongst the rabble.

Sorry, Clint. You're on your own. I'll just have to clean up your wounds in between rounds and send you back in swingin'. ;-)

Clearly your much smarter than I am. Hahaha!

Why don't they show some real Nostradamus sack and start bashing X5 years before it's released?!!

If you summarize posts? They're all starting to sound rather like this:
"Erm muh gherd! How dare they try to improve existing performance and add features?!! What are they trying to do, sell copies of a new product or something??? I for one will be boycotting the whole deal! Obviously a company could not possibly sort out issues of any kind and this new version will undoubtedly suffer from problems that were fixed two years ago or more. I barely tried the thing 4 years ago, ran into a few issues and jumped ship to another product that I am having so much success with, that all I seem to do is piss and moan about the product I left! Boo everything!!!"

interesting take reading others perspectives mostly positive but

there are two Haters there that make some of the negative nancys here look like Mother Theresa..

they should stop

Yes, there are haters and unreasonable people in that thread but there are also people with legitimate points.  Many of us feel that Cakewalk is ignoring bugs and puts very little effort into making the program stable.  Instead they just keep adding features not addressing the problems many people are having.  I've heard nothing about bug fixes so far.

There have been a few mentions about stability/core improvements from the Bakers FWIW.
