I didn't think about Sweetwater. Makes me wonder if I can put it on my Sweetwater card I've never used...

If you don't mind me asking, did you have to pay the $399 for it?

I've been playing the piano for more than half a century, and never learned how to half-pedal. Except on those occasions when my pedal controller starts to slip away from me while I'm playing on a concrete floor.

Nor did I ever find a use for the soft pedal, much to the consternation of my parents, and later, the downstairs neighbors.

That's a perfect description of my half pedal technique. The skittering pedal. Somehow I can even chase it around carpeted surfaces as well:-)

Of course, usually I tape it down.

I watched the video and really enjoyed the performances and instruments (the chap in the yellow hat was a bit good like).  However, it's not something that I'd personally consider buying as I am most assuredly not a keyboardist and would make little good use of it.

Well - If you need it or not is open for discussion. Personally I think it will be in my library within a year. I could be biased (because I also have Omnisphere 2, Trilian and Stylus RMX), but as I do not have a real good piano emulation now I think it's just an "fit" for me. The fact you can use this instruments in Omnisphere too has sold it for me.

Anyway - It seems they had a real nice launch party: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKsGGUbm7sk

I'm afraid I'll have to get it too. I'm a sucker for keys, and though the grand might not be up there with the very best that use more than 100 gig for the piano alone, those Keycape electrics are just too sweet to pass on. Plus the ability to use them in Omnisphere.

According to my guy at Sweetwater it'll be $379 there as well.

I did learn a couple of new things:

- No discounts through Spectrasonics. Any discounts will be handled by the retailers.

- Omnisphere 2 will receive an update next week to include support for Keyscape.
