I have to say, the first time I used the new comping my head exploded because although some people didn't like take lanes, I had a workflow that worked for me. In fact there are several comping workflows that work with X3, some of which are better than others. But when I looked at the Speed Comping help, bingo!! That's definitely the preferred method. Once I became familiar with speed comping, AFAIC that's the way to go.

I strongly suggest that if you're into comping, check out the online help for Speed Comping and go through it step-by-step. I didn't really "get" it until I followed the instructions while using it on a project.

I agree, Craig, speed comping is the way to go.  I liked Reaper's simplicity and speed for comping, but this  makes it even easier. Nice update, I'm happy with X3 so far.  Of course there are a ton of things I haven't tried yet, but things are promising so far.

Yep. To me, Comping in X3 is what screensets in X1 were. It really is so quick it's almost automatic.

I purchased X3 in seconds after watching comping tutorial video. Cakewalk - or some individual Baker - has done superb job! This will definitely speed up my workflow when editing multi-track live takes.

Awesome. Just awesome.

Thank you Cakewalk for the new design!
