I tried to stall Audio Engine by looping small area, moving audio clips to left and right, moving clip boundaries near playback cursor (this was dangerous in X1), splitting and crossfading clips, enabling/disabling PDC and all FX. There were some pauses and minor cracks in playback but I could not make a single dropout. This is promising as I tend to edit clips heavily all the time during playback to save time. :)

Finally! Someone is giving us some solid info about the program that is not just plug-in info. Could you give us your computer specs so we know what kind of rig you are running? I have been reading what few posts about the latency and I'm still waiting for what the CPU usage is doing. It seems to be pretty positive.

Asus Z87-A mobo, i7 4770K 3.5 GHz, G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 1600 Mhz (32 GB), Win7 64 bit Ultimate, Intel SSD + 12 TB storage, RME UFX via USB, latency 256.

Another improvement:
I did not see any graphical issues when moving clips in track view.

This is indeed good news. I hope to see more information on the actual DAW itself than the plugins soon so I can decide whether or not to make the upgrade.

Thank you for posting this - moving clips and having them jump to a random track was a drag (x2a) and the last project had constant audio engine drop outs... this is looking promising...!

I wonder if they've fixed the problem with MIDI timing drift when looping. The workaround (turning on the metronome and muting it) was OK, but it would be nice not to have to do that. I also wonder if they've fixed general stability issues when setting loop points during playback...that was the #1 crash issue for me.

Yes - that was a huge issue for us.
We'd get back around on say the 10th take through the loop point and the midi drums would be WAY OFF...
