I've got a legacy X2 project with Slate Virtual Channel, Bus Channel and Virtual Tape Machine in it that crashes. The problem reporter sent off three reports. When I get time I will start eliminating plugs till I nail it down and fill out a problem report.

Nailed it down and it's not the Slate plugins. It the Waves plugins. I've submitted some crash mini dumps from a new clean project with only Dim Pro and a single Waves plugin. A similar project with Dim Pro and Slate plugins does not crash.

Another curiosity is that if you start a fresh X3 session, the problem project will open. If you close the project and try to reopen it, X3 will crash.

Unchecking the "Replace VST2 Plug-ins When Opening Projects" box in the VST Settings Preferences solved the problem.

Now to figure out why.
