All, I see that X3 comes with Addictive Drums now. I don't know anything about them but gather that they would be considered a competitor to Toontrack's Superior Drummer.   I'm curious here, does anyone have any experience with both and which one is the overall better package?  I already own Toon's Superior Drummer.

Thanks all.

Superior Drummer is better if you like to do a lot of tweaking and
playing with the settings (which you can also do in AD)
I, personally, use AD as my GO TO....I can get a great sound
relatively quickly, and get on with my work....the ADpaks
are far less expensive then those of SD....and AD loads
relatively quickly and is less taxing the system...The downside
of AD is that they don't have anywhere near the Addons that
SD does....

That being said...it's down to personal preference...and how
much you really want to do...

Can you use the MIDI packs from Superior Drummer and use them in Addictive Drums and vice versa

I do...

What you have to do is drag the MIDI onto the track..then change the Instrument...
Be aware that the drum maps are different though...so that may be an issue...
if you don't mind doing some editing, or setting up your own maps...then
it's no big deal (to me)

I do the same between all my keyboard programs too...makes life easy for me...

I would say yes, if you know where to find them. But some midi clips have certain info for the particular drum program it was meant for.

But in the end, it's just midi info and can be used and manipulated to your needs.

I also have Superior Drummer and have taken a casual look at Addictive Drums. I just downloaded the software today and haven't made an AB comparision as far as sounds, but I personally like the interface for Addictive vs Superior. Looks like they have the about the same features.
Time will tell.

I love the XLN Audio Interfaces....they always look elegant...
AD has an awesome interface..and sounds really good...

I wish AK had the included MIDI and MIDI Packs and Player Piano view that EZKeys has...
but soundwise AK is far better....

Red,

Don't know if you have it or not (or even care)
but there is FREE verision of Addictive Keys that has 49 keys of the Grand...
I highly recommend it..especially for FREE...

I might check into it, but to be honest, I'm one of those "Guitar Player Guys" who like fancy toys and just want a fancy daw.
At best, i will be recording myself and composing some of my own music. Right now, no plans to do any professional money making ventures.
