I might check into it, but to be honest, I'm one of those "Guitar Player Guys" who like fancy toys and just want a fancy daw.
At best, i will be recording myself and composing some of my own music. Right now, no plans to do any professional money making ventures.

That's the beauty of it..you can add piano (really nice sounding piano) to your compositions..
and it's FREE...nothing to lose...LOL

I dunno man... Piano just does not belong in 80's head banging music
But there is an ambient side to me as well... Perhaps it would be great for something like that.

I had AD first, and it is so creative in the sounds and the midi patterns.

However, the SD kits are just meatier and cut through a mix better, especially the kick and snare. I actually prefer the cymbals in AD over SD.

I like AD & BFD Eco a lot more than I do Superior 2 or EZDrummer.  No question SD is good, but I find the others sound just as good IMO, and they are easier to use and less demanding on the system.

SD, AD, BFD - These are all great products and any move is a sideways move. EZ is a more basic/simpler system, but still a very good product.

Whatever you are most comfortable with is all that will matter.
It never hurts to have them all :)

i dont know what AD sounds like now. But Toontrack were miles ahead as far as sound. Most of the time i hate Big 80s processed drum sounds. I like classic R&B and Jazz Drumming.

I've spent considerable time with both.  AD is a great package - very intuitive user interface and easy to tweak.  I converted almost all my projects over to Superior Drummer after I purchased it.  I like the kit pieces better in Superior.  It seems like a more professional and higher end drum package.  I don't know for sure, but it seems they spent way more hours developing the Superior than AD.  There's just more to it than AD.  The amount of tweaking you can do is crazy.  But there is a much longer learning curve with Superior.  You have to be willing to put the time in.  I agree with James that the Cymbals in AD are great.
