I have worked at this for hours.
I bought a couple of Sonivox basses and installed them to the VST folder but they don't show up in Sonar.
I see them being scanned by Sonar when I forced a scan but they are not on the list when I go to the browser to install them.
I did run the install programs inside the folders and the stand alone program runs ok. Just not the softsynth.
They used to work fine but stopped working for some reason.

When you look in the plugin manager do you see them listed under vst instead of vsti or are they not listed anywhere?

If they are listed as vst instead of vsti you can look at the properties in plugin manager and check the box that says enable as synth.

since they used to work you can move the dll files out of the vst folder temporarily. run the vst scanner to clear the registry, then move the dll files back and scan again.

Are they excluded?

They do not show up anywhere in the Sonar Browser (plugins or synths) even after I took out the dll's and rescanned and put them back in and rescanned.
I see them quickly scanned during the second process but ignored in the browser.

Tom is referring you to Utilities > Plug-in Manager, not the Browser. You should find them there, and they may need to be deliberately enabled as synths, as he mentioned.

Oh, thanks. But no sign of them there either.
I re-ran the plug installer as well.
Thanks anyway.
I have tried contacting the developer but have not heard since he suggested I re-install and that failed.
He may get back as the link I was given when I paid was temporary. I may need to download again.
