Will all the PC modules that came with X1 Production Suite and X2 Producer work in X2 Studio?! Can I just drag all that stuff into it somehow as well as the extra modules I bought?

Also how about releasing a completely bare bones version of Producer without all the extra third party gack for $50 to make up for the complete lack of a decent patch for X2? Seriously I'd rather have a patch for X2 but that ain't gonna happen. This would act as a patch and make me (and I'm sure a lot of others) feel a heck of a lot better about the past year.

Oh and I say this because I see NOW you guys are talking about going hog wild with support. I paid a serious chunk of change for both X1 and X2 and am a little miffed that if I don't drop $150 (which is not worth it to me because everything in X3 aside from the actual core improvements is not needed at ALL) I will not get the level of support I expected when buying from your company.

Not to be an arse but seriously. Little miffed here.

Most of the new X3 features and added fluff do not really interest me (aside from the Melodyne ARA integration, Skylight GUI/Color enhancements & new Comping), what I would really like to see and read are the 100+ bug fixes and under the hood improvements to the core program! Can those specs be posted too?

Cheers,

I know that the base X3 doesn't include any ProChannel effects, but will the X2 Producer ProChannel modules still work with it (assuming that I have both X2 Producer and base X3 installed)?

Thanks in advance,
G

I am wondering this as well. If I could yank all my PC modules into Studio it might be worth a look. Not spending $150 though. That's for sure.

I was told by CW last night they will.

Yes, they have already said X2 PC modules will work. No need to move anything. The modules are in a shared directory.

"Bare bones" Producer makes no sense. It would just be another version to keep track of when the next upgrade cycle came around.

Hmmmm. The vid for Melodyne isn't playing. All others so far played fine.

Cool.  Will the X2 Producer VST's still work in base X3?  For instance, I have Breverb2 SONAR in my FX list as well as TH2 Producer and all of the xx-64 strips and effects.  Can I still use those as inserts in the base version of X3?

The Producer to Studio thing was what I was worried about as far as the modules. Wasn't sure how that works "crossgrading" or whatever it would be called.

The bare bones Producer thing though would be beneficial for the bug fixes (which I'm assuming will be there) and the GUI tweaks like the Take Lanes which needed work as well as having access to the new support policy they're talking about. Yank out Melodyne, the Nomad stuff, Addictive Drums, AAS stuff, etc so we can just get the core program.

Although I wouldn't mind having melodyne, the Tape Sim and the Quad Curve. That I'd pay $100 for... if the program proves to be stable.

Just something that would make me extremely happy again. Happy is good. We like happy.

Any VSTs should act normally. They are kind of separate programs from the core unlike the PC modules which act differently. There are Sonar locked versions though. For example in X1 there was Guitar Rig 4 Sonar which I don't think could be used in other DAWs as a VST but it worked fine in X2 (even though it wasn't included). I'd imagine all those old Sonar locked VSTs will work in newer versions. Just not in other DAWs.

I may be horribly wrong about that though.

And I see now those Sonar versions are what you are referring to. Oops. I'm assuming they will.

Thanks Beepster!  Can someone from CW confirm for us?
