I've yet to hit the "peg the dsp meter into the red and meet the 'rice bubble triplets', snap crackle and pop" issue you describe.
 
For now, I stay away from presets in UAD plugs but I do hope they get that fixed (and PA plugs too) soon.'
 
VSTi issues are generally less of a concern for me because I expect to mostly just import stems/tracks to mix/master with.

good for you as you would be aware from the mb forums there are a lot of others who have, being a member of those forums you would no doubt have seen the threads, and of course if you don't use much 3rd party plugs and just mix stems, of course you wont see it. but if you do use 3rd party plugs and try to use mb as you would any other daw, ie not just mixing stems etc, well that's another story then ain't it?
