Actually, if you read carefully, they just said that projects with V-Vocal clips from earlier versions of SONAR would open and be supported. That's not quite the same thing as being able to create new V-Vocal clips in X3.

No, you can. As long as you have V-Vocal from a previous release installed you'll be able to use it like you have.

OK, *now* I'm happy! Thanks Seth.

Noel,

does VST 3 being supported means a new audio engine written from the ground up?

Talking about collaborations, Waves has worked closely with us through the cycle. I'm happy to say that we have jointly resolved *all* known interop issues with Waves plugins in SONAR.

Man, I hope so. I didn't get that impression when talking to Waves Support.

It's interesting to note that sidechaining support is now ahead of Cubase. Sonar can now support sidechaining in Waves et al, but Cubase doesn't support sidechaining with VST2.x plugins, such as all of the NI/Softube compressors in Komplete Ultimate.

really ?

you make it sound "impossible" ;-)

and how many of them are vst3 now.. since most of the major companies will have vst3 versions ?!?!

my commodore vic 20 won't run sonar x2, even though I added 32k

Thank you, all. I have seen the error of my ways. It's kind of sad that one gets these kinds of answers at a Cakewalk forum, while a Steinberg rep on Steinberg's Facebook page just said that it couldn't be done.

Regardless of how the DAW wars play out, this community is without question frigging awesome!

You own the bitbridge source code!?, this more than anything else said here makes me feel that Cakewalk is really taking ownership of Sonar and we are in for great times ahead...and I don't even use 32bit plugs!
