Will people that can't attent the IMSTA Festa get the news at the same time somewhere else? I'd love to attend but if I got the ticket from Sweden to the US I wouldn't have enough money left to buy the upgrade afterwards.

I am so ready for X3 already. Come on Cakewalk. Stop making us drooling. Sell the darn thing now! 

Are there any details on the Cakewalk website? Really need to see the fine print first.

  An existing application (like Notion) could be acquired, or a 3rd party notation company could provide an ARA compliant notation plug.  The key is that it sounds like ARA is deeply integrated in X3.  This is good news for not only notation plugs, but plugs we haven't even imagined yet. 


Not possible. Notion was acquired by Presonus just last week.

It's interesting to note that none of the links to the various stores work, nor do any searches within said stores for "Sonar X3." What's up with that? And one would think there would be news on the Cakewalk e-Store, no?  What happened...someone make a boo-boo in the sales/communication department?

Probably not a bo-bo. I'll bet they have an update store page ready to go when the announcement happens. Just open the cakewalk store and refresh the page every few min.

Yup, X3 hasn't been officially released yet, so the only mistakes (AFAICT) are retailers putting up their links too soon.   Everything you read here is just pre-release fever.  Or a kindergarten party.
 

I'm wondering if CW will delay the release of X3 until the deal with Gibson/Tascam is nailed down, so they can brand it appropriately?
 
Generally, the details of the new version are released a week or two before it can actually be ordered.  As the official details are yet to be released, I'd say we're a couple of weeks away yet.
 
That said, I would love to be proven wrong on this
