Bapu predicted that X3 would be available on the 27th.  I stand by that as a download directly from the CW store.

I predicted October 3. Who do I need to talk to to delay the release date?

The link is disabled now, but IIRC, the fine print said (paraphrasing): "Cakewalk will be shipping SONAR X3 on September 28th. We will start shipping it out in the first week of October."

So, if that is so, then YOU win!

I will assume the flyout EQ means the thing pops out bigger when you want it to. I thought I saw mention to metering as well. Does this mean our EQ will have metering in the EQ window as well?

If anyone is listening, has the engine been tweaked?  Almost gapless, but still could be just a little bit.  And when is the matrix getting updated.

Otherwise, looks like a solid upgrade.  Of course, not everyone will be happy, but hey, I had a date like that more than once.

nah .. sonar is apparently a guitar players DAW according to a comment a read  the past few days. must have dreamt project 5 / zeta and rapture then..

the core program are only what I'm interested in improvement wise not the fluffy dice or go faster stripes (a few of the extra's I already got LE versions free with other things e.g. AAS things) ... and in like past years it's nice to read's Noels document regarding it.. not the marketing stuff.

[V-Vocal] works in X3, we wanted backwards compatibility for old projects. This is always something we strive for.

Well, that's awesome. Thank you!

When X2 was released weren't there pre-sale discounted deals for those who ordered before it was released?  And weren't there different prices for download only or for boxed versions?  Just asking because the Sweatwater looks like a boxed version and if it is shipping so soon, does this mean no advance pre-sale orders?

I will probably buy it, just not sure if it will be soon or later at Christmas holidays.

I'm happy to see the ARA integration of Melodyne.  I have Melodyne Editor so I am assuming that my upgraded product would be available to me as it is in a competing DAW product.

I'm hoping that Audio Snap 2 works as well as Audio Bend works.
Looking to see if the Console view has been improved and is more efficient in it's use of space with Sends and Insert Plugins.

In the last year I have upgraded my plugin collection to include some of the top of the line products so more integrated plugs isn't going to move me unless they are also open to use in my other three DAW programs.

I'm going to be monitoring the early users posts and asking for a lot of opinions from the users of these features.  I might wait till the demo has rolled out before I make a purchase.

Literally yes. SONAR will even open .wrk files from the original version of Cakewalk v.1. I did that experiment a few years ago and was able to open the two part invention wrk file.  If we went back any further in time you would have regression :)
