Producer HAS got Melodyne. Don't fret pet.

Melodyne Essential is in both Studio and Producer. ProChannel is also in both but Studio only has 2 modules while Producer has 8 including the new QuadCurve Zoom and Tape Emulator.

Andrew,

If an X2a producer user (me) went with X3 Studio would his/her/my X2a ProChannel modules show up?

When I saw Andrew's comment about 8 PC modules in Producer, I momentarily thought X3 would have all the Cake PC modules, but X2 comes with pretty much that already, doesn't it?

Yeah, I tried to delete that before anyone saw my mistake. I used my toes and counted them again! Hahaha.

The packaging is fine. Nobody is buying sonar because of the color of the box. Well at least I hope not.

It comes in a box?

You just get the EQ and Soft tube saturation knob.

The new updated EQ is Producer Exclusive at this time.

Eeeeeeek! I realize the point of including Pro Channel into Studio is to have people buy expansions, but in order for them to buy expansions, don't they have to start using Pro Channel first? And will they start using it if it doesn't have even the most essential elements of channel strip, such as a compressor?

At least tell me it supports FX chains and that the default pro-channel configuration in Studio has an effect chain with threshold, ratio, and attack knobs for the sonitus compressor (or one of the Blue tubes). If not, I would very eagerly encourage the bakers to make that template downloadable or include it with the first fixpack (and make it the default, in the latter case)

Free Les Paul with every purchase? But is it a Standard or a Studio? I'm not buying it if it's a Studio because I already have one!

I've not seen mention of Breverb.  Does Console Emulation count as two?

But that's the worst packaging of a DAW I've ever seen...
could it possibly be any more DULL?
Someone in marketing needs to be dismissed...

what's next; complaining about the protective foam inside the box?

Don't worry! There's no foam!

Seth,

I'm trying to be fair but you're making it really hard.
When I get a software and it's a new version number 1.0, 2.0, x1, x2, etc. I pour my favorite beer in my favorite mug then I open the software package.

If the software package contains more foam - I install it.
If the beer has more foam I put the software back in the box and wait till the next service pack comes out.

This systems has been working for me since I had to replace my Magic8 Ball (my wife claims the kids broke it, still not sure about that).

<<Sigh>> now I'm going to have to come with some other foolproof system of ambiguous-indeterminate-value evaluation.

BTW, either way I drink the beer, only a stupid system wastes good beer.
