Why in the world can't you move a track from one folder to another without removing it from a folder first?? Why can't you move tracks from folder to folder in one click??

Can you not just select a single track and drag it wherever you want?

This is going to sound complicated because its much easier to do then explain. Where you place your mouse has an impact on what you can do. If you hover your mouse over the icon and number area you can drag a track anywhere. Including to a different folder. Placing your mouse elsewhere will offer different abilities. This can be checked by the right click menu. Its different depending on where on the track header you place your mouse.

Keep in mind that X2 has a lot of "hot spots" which may lead one to think for example the entire header has the same abilities where ever you place your mouse.  This is not true.

If you think about it a little this is how the Smart tool works. In a way the mouse cursor is a bit like the Smart tool.

As John explained, you can move tracks from one folder to another by dragging. My complaint is: why isn't there an option to make new tracks appear under the currently-selected folder rather than always being appended to the bottom? And if they must go to the bottom, why doesn't the track view automatically scroll down to make them visible? And while we're complaining, why is there still no folder-freeze button?

I don't normally **** about missing functionality that isn't a showstopper, but these types of things are a) easy to implement and b) would have been implemented in the old days.

I guess "bit ching" is forbidden. I'm so glad the forum software keeps me from inadvertently insulting any bit ches that might be reading this.

I wonder if any dog-breeding forums use this software.

While we're at it, isn't it about time we had nested folders?

I had over thirty tracks and dragging them to a folder on the bottom would take a lot longer compared to if I were to just right-click and send it there. I know I can manually force any track anywhere, but it would be nice to use what is already established in a right-click dropdown. I consider this a deficiency in the X2 world.

You can easily group a bunch of tracks, right click any one of them and choose "Move To Folder"

Is that what you mean?

NOT if they are already in a folder. That is what I am trying to do. Move from one folder to another without having to remove them from the current folder before reassigning them to another folder.

I want to move a single, or group of, track(s) from a folder to another folder without all the extra clicks...
