I can't import a midi file (has about 10 tracks in it).  Need help.

Try opening the file instead of importing it.

Tried it.  Nothing shows up on the screen.
 
I also tried INSERTING it.   Nothing showed up on the screen.
 
I know it was installed properly.  It was done by a Cake tech.

Be sure you are looking at the right place. It could be loaded further down in the project.

The midi file is fine. I still can't hear sound. I got to the soft synths and chose LE.
No sound.  
 
Then selected FULL ACOUSTIC BASS.
No sound.
 
Very frustrated.
 

Is there a video  showing how to use the soft synths.
Spent hours with the written documentation.  
 

It's not all that hard.. since you're working with a pre-made midi file, it is best to start off using the TTS-1 synth - later on, you can experiment with other, non GM synths. You add the TTS-1 synth in the Browser window. In the Track view, set each track to go to the TTS-1 synth. Set each track to a different midi channel.
 

Lastly create one audio track. Set it to source fomr the TTS-1 synth. Set the tracks output to your audio device.

at the bottom, I still hear no sound.  Maybe the basic settings are screwed up?

OK, but you have to set the output of each MIDI track to the TTS-1. Just press CTRL-A to select all tracks, then hold down the CTRL key and select the TTS-1 in the output of one of the tracks and they'll all change.

No that is broken Dave. Its a bug and has been confirmed. When you open a MIDI file global output wont work. It has to be done one track at a time. A work around is to save the project and it may work when it is reopened.
