Meanwhile, Cubase 7 is on minor release 6. Cakewalk should learn from that. Their product is not so bug-free as to require 1 maintenance release. They can announce X3 when they like. I'm holding on to my money.

You may be on to something there. Released Zeta on Steam to test the waters and now.......

Actually; their first release on steam was Music Creator 6 Touch.
After that came a few expansion packs and then Z3TA+2 :)
 
It's kind of strange that it's not possible to activate Z3TA+2 on steam with the reg.code you got from CW, though, for customers that didn't buy it on steam. This is possible with games.

 
Not all of them. I have quite a few that don't work.
 
It has to do with contracts etc etc etc. Stuff that's above my pay grade.

Quickfixes and patches come out shortly after release because of the lag time between 'release' and when discs get printed and go to the stores etc. There always needs to be an end date or nothing would ever come out, but we also don't stop working.

Just thinking aloud here.........  erm....might be a bit of a leftfield idea, a bit too ....out-there for some,  but how about..........maybe not printing the discs until it we're sure it actually works properly ? ;)

Same here! And +1 to USB sticks! I like that idea! Some now have to plug in external CD/DVD drives to install.

When will X3b be out or will we have to beta test X3 too.
