Not sure about anyone else, but when using plugins like these I really cannot hear much of a difference if any - and my hearing is still fine and I am using high quality cans...I constantly load these audio plugins and A/B turning them on and off, but really, I don't hear anything...even coming back to a track the next day..

Are they really worth all the effort? Or am I missing something here?

The sonar power books are what the manual should be.

Thanks dubdisciple! I would love for every copy of SONAR to include a copy of my book, but I think that would be too costly for Cakewalk. Not sure... the publisher handles all that stuff.

Quite likely.

I can easily drive the TL64 into distortion which is VERY audible

Just check your routing, you must be missing something.

Thanks BJ, but I KNOW I can get that result I am talking about using these in less than extreme settings - I do that, but I hear no difference to the sound. As I wrote, even coming back to the tune after a break. Which is why I really don't bother adding them in the first place. Just complicates the mix for me anyway.
And they are routed correctly.

Anyhoo, not a biggie, just curious is all

When the Cakewalk help file refers to online help, it means a separate help file on your PC.  In the case of the TL-64, the default location for the 64bit versions help file path is  "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Tube Leveler\TL-64_Tube_Leveler.chm"

Here's a quick trick to enable quick access to sonar's helpfiles, inside or outside Sonar :

1. Create a folder somewhere and call it something like Cakewalk Help Files.
2. Point Windows Explorer to your Cakewalk root directory
3. In Explorer's search box type in *.chm
4. Hit Ctrl-A to select all the results
5. Ctrl-Shift drag them all into the folder you created in Step 1.
6. Your folder will now contain shortcuts to all Sonar's help files.
7.  You can then create a TaskBar toolbar that points to this directory and you'll have quick access to your help files at any moment
8.  You can organize your shortcuts into some nested folders and the toolbar will automatically reflect this
9.  I've added shortcuts to all my manuals (.doc and .pdf, like the X2 Reference Guide) as well in this toolbar.
