Markleford- I got a lot of use out of your MIDI plugins in the 32 bit world. Shame they don't work in 64 bit. When I get to a pc (iPhone now) later today I'll send a message to cake pointing them to this thread. I'll submit a feature request as well. I encourage anyone else to also let cake know they need to facilitate a way for 3rd party MFx developer to move their plugs to 64 bit.

Ah, thanks! It does seem that their contact methods are currently broken (for other devs as well, see: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2737740), and I haven't been in the beta program for years, so anyone who can get the word to someone on the inside would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Thanks for your continued efforts for the SONAR community by the way

FYI - I submitted a feature request, and a problem report and also sent an email to Technical Support. I will report back here when I hear anything. Must be very frustrating as a developer to hit a wall like this.
Features like MFX (and CAL) are under-supported and it would be awesome if Cake would put in place the necessary support resources to stay on top of each of their features - (the infamous Staff-View also falls into this category.)
(I have very selfish reasons for this - I would love to be able to use some of Markleford's TenCrazy MFX effects that used to work so well in 32 bit versions of SONAR.)
As a minimum, I think a bit-bridge-esque wrapper for 32 bit MFX is needed. Ideal would be both a wrapper and a proper SDK so that 3rd party developers can develop 64 bit MFX for SONAR.
I am hopeful that other SONAR users can see the need/value of this effort and support it with their own requests to Cake.

FYI - Markleford- assuming you are peeking in on this thread - I shared some emails with Dan in product support who is going to PM you to hopefully help you out.

Thanks, Brando. Hopefully we can figure this out: I'd love to at least get my MFX Sustain Fix back into the hands of 64-bit users!

I also wrote to Frank of Frank's MIDI Plug-Ins (http://www.midi-plugins.de/), who told me that he didn't have to do anything special to get his MFX working under 64-bit. He confirmed that there is no new SDK for 64-bit, and the old one is the only one to use (no other exists).

Right now I'm mostly suspecting old project compile settings that might be incompatible with the new compiler. I'll try to get to work on that soon.

Markleford - Dan said he was going to PM you with some contacts who could help you to resolve this. Have you heard from him? But I suspect you are right given that Frank did not have to do anything special to get his to work (I own his plugs also btw. But if I recall correctly I thought he had both a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version of the plugins(?) maybe I am mistaken as I installed them a long time ago - I'll check the installer files and his website for clues.) Good luck and definitely hope you get this sorted out.
