Hi gang,

Anyone out there that is using the Mackie Universal Control Pro with Sonar X-2?
If so, are you experiencing any compatability/latency problems?

I'm thinking of buying this controller, but would like to hear your pro's and cons of this setup.

Thanks

+1.  I am also very interested in any feedback on this question.  For my purposes though, I'm wondering what differences, if any, X2a/MCU users are experiencing than what I'm experiencing with my D8Bridge MCU emulator and X2a.  For example, the track SELECT functionality in my X2a/D8Bridge setup doesn't work properly, but I understand from an X2a/MCU user that function works properly.  I'd like to see an issues thread for X2a/MCU and this could be it.

I'm using the Mackie Universal Control with X2a and many others on this forum are as well.  I don't use many functions, so haven't had any issues.  I do recall some others indicating some shortcomings in the level of granularity for certain plugin attributes not working, but that's more symptomatic of Sonar than the console surface.  Do a few searches in this forum and I'm sure you'll find more than enough detail for the Mackie + X2a.

I found some latency problems with the MSR section of the Mackie a while ago. I reported it to CW, I'm hoping they are looking into it.

My advice would be to, double check the fault isn't at your end and after that report it to the backers, the more on here that use the unit the more chance we have of getting the niggles fixed.

PS. IMHO The ProChannel is a real pain on the Mackie, I hope they can find us a solution.

The MC works well with X2. The only problem is CW has not updated the dll to reflect the changes in X1/X2. The MC will work with just about all DAWs. The amount of support a DAW has for it is up to the DAW developers. If you look at other CSs that CW supports its the same story. No updates that take care of changes made to X1/X2.

I've done this but I haven't found more than enough detail.  There are some relevant results but it would be great to know just what the MCU/X2a user community looks like on here.  That way, I'll know who to bug with all my questions!

I use the vanilla MU & XT. Works well except the prochannel which doesn't work at all unless the module you want is the first one in the chain.

Sluggish behaviour can be interface driver related. The latest drivers for my ZED-R16 have that problem, older driver works fine so sluggish start may not be related to the MCU at all.

I have a MCU and two extenders.  IMHO, I wouldn't advise buying one for X2 because I think that the Cakewalk mindset is to push toward touch screen.
