Hi Freex,

Can you eloborate on what problems you are having with the ProChannel?
Like Karl (FFB) said eariler, the MCU only "sees" the module in  the PC that is at the top (first in the chain), not way of controlling any other module, unless you move it to the Top position.
Would just love to see the Modules in PC being dispalyed on the MCU like plugins are in the FX bin. So we could scroll thru them on the MCU.

Thanks for your response Freex!

Anyone,  is there any other controller/mixer out there that works well right now with X-2?

I've already looked at the Avid products but don't think I want to drop $1,500 on a something made of cheap plastic.
Also, looks like from the youtube vids that there is a big learning curve.

I was also comtemplating on the Sonar V-700 which would have been ideal, but was discouraged to read about the lack of upgrade support from Cakewalk for X-1 and X-2.

This is unbelievable. I just went and looked at the V-700 product page
and they boast that it built around the venerable Sonar 8 !

Have they thought that this might look a little odd ?

Might as wall say "don't buy this piece of crap"

Don't get me wrong, the Mackie MCU is a fantastic control surface, it was even better in pre X versions of Sonar and I'm sure the bakers will get it back to awesome very soon.

If you're looking cheap and effective, have you considered the behringer controllers?

Hi Freex,

I like the solid built of the Mackie better than the Behringer.  I don't mind paying the price, and the 8 faders is perfect.
I don't need more for the material I'm doing.

I'm surprised at the lack of control surfaces on the market.  There is little to choose from in the $1,500 under range.

Thanks for the link Bigboi.

CW are aware of the existing problems with MCU and X1, X2

I remember reading something about them hoping to address the issues in X3 if that's any consolation, I for one welcome anything CW can do to make the MCU Sonar relationship stronger... :)

Really apart from the issue with the PC, the Mackie works better with Sonar than any other DAW IMHO

Thanx Freex for the good news!

I'll second Freex's recommendation. Despite the frustration of not being able to have full control over the ProChannel I still wouldn't be without the MCU. I use my laptop from time to time and not having a control surface attached to that slows me down big time.

Here's hoping for some control surface updates at some time.

I have a Mackie Control, as well as the Mackie Extender, with Sonar x2 Producer.  I am having the worse time getting it hooked up and working.  Is there anyone out there that can help me configure the control surface to Sonar x2 Producer?

Thanks,

Ken

I have a windows 64 bit quad process with 6g ram and a 2T Hard Drive, and Roland Studio Caputure, with Sonar x2 Producer.
