On May 9, 2015 the local newspapers and media were announcing that it was 35 years since the Sunshine Skyway Bridge disaster.  It was one of those events where you remember where you were and what you were doing when it was announced.  Well the announcements this year, reawakened my interest and I did a little internet searching on the events and came up with this number.

It is a long one (6+ minutes) and it is done in kind of a pop-ballad style.  I just couldn't fit in the entire story in under 6 minutes (sorry about that).  I am also reaching waaayyy out of my comfort zone with this song.  So ------ I would appreciate any feedback that you can share.

Thanks!

I really like songs that tell a story like this. I couldn't tell you reached out of your comfort zone. Nice!
Nothing major really. Most of what I would say would be opinion only. Great job Freddy!

I'm a big fan of story songs myself, and this one in particular is based on an actual historical event.  Very nicely done, Freddy, and kudos to you for taking on such a project.

The part of the song where the vocal harmony first kicks in grabbed my attention.  It was that moment that I thought "ya, I can dig it."  Excellent work Freddy!

Sorry, this was a double post.  Clumsy fingers.

Lots going on here Freddy....I think you got it where you want it but if I had my production hat on my friend I think I'd move things around a bit as it seems lots of pieces are try to pull for my attention during the verses...I believe in creating space so that whatever needs the most attention at a particular time gets it..(vox, lead, etc)

maybe a remix at some point?

just holla!!

good job bro....

I had totally forgotten this incident until now.  I hear a little Neil Young in this.  This mix has a nice vintage sound that others would die for.  Good job, Freddy!

Hi Tim.  I too am a fan of songs that tell a story or present a little verbal vignette of living.  That must be why I love the early stuff of Leiber and Stoller (e.g., the songs done for the Robins and Coasters) .  Thanks for listening and thanks for the kind comments.

Hey Phil.  Thanks for listening and the kind comments.  I think the hardest part in doing this number was trying to cut down all of the information found in old newspapers and articles, etc. to 6:00 minutes ;>)   Thanks again.

Thanks Jacob.  I appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment.
