My DAW, purchased four or five years ago from StudioCat (run by CW forum member Jim Roseberry) had a battery that went dead - lost all my bios settings.  I contacted Jim and suggested I pay him for his time to walk me through the process of applying the lost bios settings.  He refused.  He patiently spent about 45 minutes on the phone getting my DAW back in optimum shape - no charge for his time.

Guess where I'll be going when I next need a new PC?  I'm quite certain that I'm not the only one here who feels this way.  Thank you, Jim, for your superb customer service!

Even when Jim charges, like he did on my self build, his fee is reasonable and I felt that I got more than I paid for from him.

Jim is a stand up guy.

He's such a stand up guy he's forgotten how to sit down:-)

He is such a great person and a great resource. I try my darnedest to not abuse his helpful nature...but sometimes I just can't help myself.

Thanks Jim, ol pal.

I did a build via a Jim consult. Best $40 I've ever spent on computers. Not just a list of parts but also software and training on how to setup and fully check out a new PC. An asset to the forum just like Craig A.

Indeed. I have never used Jim's services but suffice it to say, over the years,  I've seen him respond to questions and go into detail that obviously he could easily have charged for.

Yes, We are fortunate to have a number of highly talented, selfless, folks here in this forum site. And Jim is just but one of them.

Kudos!

A few months ago my mouse was hovering over the Buy button on Jim's site when I got a call from my son-in-law offering to let me purchase a computer through his vendor. He buys computers in bulk for a school district, so it seemed like a good way to save some money.

Long story short: the buying process was painful, delivery took forever, the system wasn't configured the way I'd asked, and in the end I only saved $150 over Jim's price because I had to pay Washington State sales tax. Next time...
