Because X2a is different to X1b

yes it's X2a

I must admit then, Cakewalk has had a good daw all the way to X1.

I am sure they will release a update for X2a i do not think they will let us down on this one , even if we have been jerks
and complaining a lot on this forums about it.

Of course Win 8 Preview is not " stable " enought, but as i said, it worked great running X1b.
so why should not X2a do the same !!
Thanks

Because every new program version, be it operating system or other, tends to require more resources and resource related "gimmicks" than the previous one. Teething problems/real bugs aside. The few exeptions make the rule.

I'm in the delightfull situation that I don't need to think about upgrading, because whatever I upgrade to, will be too much for my PC :o( and getting a new PC is not possible in the foreseeable future. I just keep fingers crossed the gear keeps spinning...

Yes that is true, making to many changes in a program at once, will mostly result in bug's
That is why i belive it is always better to do minor updates at a time, and do not implement to mutch
then it will be easier to track down and fix it.
When it is fixed, then they can add a new feature after.

Usually companies uses gimmicks to get attention / sales on a product, not always thinking
what benefits the user most.

For your first issue, check the X2 help since there were changes in how snap is handled; snap intensity, Smart Grid, landmarks, etc.  Definitely worth a look, and probably not RAM related (though the OS isn't out of the question).

As far as sync and recording issues go, I'd imagine it's the OS more than anything. Even though 2GB is the minimum for X2, not sure about Win8.   Perhaps you just got lucky that X1 worked as well as it did..  I mean, it does predates Windows 8!

None of your issues is experienced by the great majority of X2a users. Ergo, they are all due to configuration or interoperability issues with your hardware/drivers/OS or the particular project files you're working with. Different versions of SONAR get their own config files, and it's quite common for them to behave differently if not configured identically. There can also be project-specific issues that need to be considered. Specifically, there can be issues with running older projects and new projects created using old templates in newer versions. If you can't reproduce these issues with a new project started from the Normal template in X2a, I would suggest you look into that possibility. If you can, show us the relevant SONAR and project settings for each issue, and we'll help you get to the bottom of it, including confirming any bonafide, reproducible bugs.

P.S. Limiting yourself to one or two precisely described issues per post is always helpful.

My mother had a computer with 2GB RAM running Windows XP. It worked fine for about a year. Then all of a sudden, it slowed to a crawl - so slow it was useless. I couldn't understand why because it had always worked fine and she didn't install any programs, but it was clear Windows was paging a lot to the hard drive.

What happened was all the updates to Windows, Explorer, and other programs had accumulated over time to where 2GB of RAM was no longer enough. As soon as I installed an extra 2GB of RAM, it went back to working perfectly again.

"Computer specs please troll."

expressing frustration on a public forum board and then interacting with it to find a solution, like nearly everyone on here has done at one time or another, qualifies as "troll" how exactly?

I'd have to agree.

Seems a tad harsh & a bit uncalled for.

Especially with so many of us swimming in this sea of X2a issues, [mutliple known issues], lack of communication, [absolute dead silence about any updates - even when the Mods & Admins chime in once in a blue moon], & no further updates since the one & only 'a', [unprecedented for Cake].

I think most of us have felt that type of frustration & taken a swipe at Cake on here at one time or another - and justifiably so it would seem.
