Can anybody help !
I started with Sonar about two years ago with the introductory LE version.  I am currently using Sonar X2 Essentials on my new Widows 8 desk top.
I enjoyed using the FX Compressor/Gate that came with the LE version.  It was in a graphical format that could be manipulated with the mouse.  It was very simple to use and I found the presets were very good.  There is no sign of this one on X2.  Is there any way of transferring this across.  I still have the original LE disc

I believe if you look on the download page on Cakewalk's site, you can download it for free, along with a couple other things.

The FX Compressor/Gate should be included with Sonar X2.  You have to place the DVD back into your DVD Rom Drive and select custom install to get the additional plug-ins that came with Sonar.   Just make sure you don't re-install Sonar and everything else, just select the additional plug-ins you want.

The FX Compressor/Gate is included in X2 Essentials, however; if you are running 64Bit SONAR the FX Compressor/Gate is not part of the default install. The FX Compressor/Gate is a 32bit DX effect and will not run on 64bit SONAR.

"What if my favorite plug-in maker doesn't make 64-bit plug-ins?
This is where SONAR's BitBridge™ comes in. BitBridge enables the use of 32-bit VST effects and instruments in SONAR's 64-bit environment. BitBridge technology extends the viability and use of your favorite VST plug-ins; ensures future compatibility of freeware, even for the most obscure, independently developed shareware plug-ins.

In some cases installing the 32bit version of SONAR on your 64bit OS is necessary. Install the 32-bit version of SONAR by reinserting your SONAR installation disc and choosing the 32-bit option during the installation. This version can run along side the 64 bit version of SONAR so you can use it when you need to work with 32 bit plugins.

Note - SONAR was made jBridge compatible so customers could have a second option to BitBridge if needed. The free jBridge download does work as a good test to see if its performance is better than BitBridge with specific plug-ins."
