Hello forum,

I've been doing some vocal punch recording.
I set the punch points, then moved the scrub bar a few seconds to the left. After stopping the recording, I see that the wavform starts towards the end of the defined punch zone, thus cutting off a good chunk of the audio.

On a second take, the recording renders where it should be.
Any ideas about this?

Thanks,

Lee.

I've seen this in my own recordings on occasion. The wave picture is not lined up properly.

The question is... does the audio play in the proper place?   If it does, and in my DAW it does play properly synced, I simply save and close the project and then Cake and do a restart. Reboot the system if needed.

My uneducated guess is that something in the OS gets off kilter and the restart solves it.

I've had similar thing happen even when not punch recording -- a waveform will be delayed from where it was recorded.  As I recall, it would playback delayed while I was still in Record mode, then when I'd turn off Record mode, it would actually be where it should.  I haven't seen this in a while tho - it may have even been back in X1.

Thanks guys,

The problem is deffinitely that not only is the waveform in the wrong place, the audio is also. The audio plays in the same position as the waveform. It looks like the waveform renders the same distance away from the start of the puch zone as the scrub bar is to the left of the start of the punch zone. Strange how it all works on the second attempt, that is if I don't move the scrub bar again.
