I have an audio bass line with held notes and one runs into the next leaving no space for other instruments.
The notes are sustained in volume so I can't use a gate.
Is there a slick way to shorten notes?
I seem to recall something about Keying off something else?

You can slip edit... and apply a fade to cut the note short.
Most likely, a log fade (fast fade out)...
Get the timing right... and it'll sound natural.

Melodyne can do it too.

I'll try the slip edit but it is a slow process.
If they are all chopped into notes, is there a way to slip fade them all at the same time?
