The transition to Roland ownership/operation has affected communication.
Restructuring/re-organizing takes time.

I'm not sure why this notion keeps going around. Cakewalk operates pretty independently from Roland. Nothing *substantial* has changed here in the last 5 years. Yes, we have a new CEO and a few different faces, but we still operate out of Boston.

Hey Seth,

FWIW, It *seems* (feels) like there's more distance between Cakewalk and the end users (since the Roland take over).
Though that notion might not actually be the case, it seems like a logical scenario/explanation.
There's a lot of assuming going on (right or wrong)... but the lack of communication leaves (leads) us to conjecture.
As a longtime user, I like Cakewalk and X2... so please view my comments as constructive.
IMO, A little reconnecting with your audience (end-users) would put a lot of anxiety to rest.

KeniSadly... I doubt we will hear anything before 9/20 (end of X2 discount) and likely to take until October for them to say anything... Keni (One Very Disappointed Old Man)

Still got the "buy X2 now get the next version free" promo to go yet, so I wouldn't go getting your hopes up just yet.

Oops! I forgot about that one! <sigh>

This statement only makes it harder to understand the change in behaviour.  People here have been using the Roland thing to cut Cakewalk some slack.  Confused...

What might not be 'broke' for you just may be 'broke' for others.
Everyone here has different needs and workflows.
Not an easy job trying to keep everyone content.
There are quite a few here with the same lingering issues that they really need addressed in order to work smoothly.

And sometimes when they fix one thing it affects/screws up another down the chain.
I sure as hell wouldn't want their job lol, I get plenty of that with mine.

It's great anticipation for many because it's been a very long time of problems for many.
The software issues combined with big changes that others are making with their merchandise
has surely made for a lot of pressure on Cake.
I believe Cake has been dealing with many problems too - unfortunately it probably hasn't all been about the software.

I expected to see new offerings this month and by now. Thinking about the last few years and what others are doing I can understand why it may be longer than I expected. I hope my tolerance and patience has been worth it...but no big deal for me as I don't really mind changes when I choose to make them.

I understand that for the most part everyone has good intentions. I can't comment on the marketing side of things or the change in press releases. I'm not in marketing. You'll find the blog pretty active though.

I can't comment on details of builds/patches/releases of SONAR, but I can say I'm pretty excited. I've been using Cakewalk products for about 15 years.

Alright, back to work.

You know, it feels really weird to write this, but...    Seth, you big ole' tease.
