You can't have a reverb thread without somebody recommending ValhallaDSP products, so I'll get that obligatory mention out of the way: Vintage and VRoom are 50 bucks apiece and then (IMO) you're set for reverbs.

Indeed! I am really happy with Valhalla Vintage, haven't spent time with their room reverb because of the other tools I have, but I do love Vintage.

Jim,
Since you have R2 and Phoenix :

could you compare the exponential audio reverbs with the Valhalla ones ?

Thanks

The Maillard Reaction
I bought both but I hardly ever use the Valhalla stuff. I thought I'd use the Valhalla as the lite cpu rig, but it seems like the x° stuff is very efficient.

I still think it is a good idea to buy both.

Best regards,
mike

Hi Mike,
Could you tell a little more about the difference between the two brand ? Is the EA far superior to Valhalla ?

The Maillard Reaction
If you want something that sounds like an affordable reverb box from the 1990s then Valhalla Room is awesome.

If you want a reverb sound that doesn't sound like you have used any reverb, but just happened to record in the most ideal place for the content you have recorded, then the Exponential Audio is awesome.

On it's best day, Valhalla sounds like a great effect and that can be just what you want. The Exponential Audio reverbs make stuff sound rich, full and deluxe without revealing that you have used an effect.

I'd encourage you to demo both.

best regards,
mike

Mike and Carl : Thank you very much for the precisions !

"The Exponential Audio reverbs make stuff sound rich, full and deluxe without revealing that you have used an effect." :
Very important quality ! :Maybe this is for that I mainly struggle with other reverbs that sound "rich" on a solo track but needed to increase the tail in a whole mix !

Concerning the audio demo on the EA site, It's a pity that there is not solo vocal singers...

Thanks again
