I installed the 32-bit version of Sonar X2 Producer but now I would like to switch over to 64-bit. Can I just reinstall the program from the original installer or do I have to uninstall everything first?

Just install 64 bit. They can both reside on your system. And since it takes so little space you never know when you might need 32bit in the rare instance that a 32bit plug is wonky in 64bit SONAR.

Yes, install from the original installer and apply the appropriate patches. Since the 64bit installs in a different location, both the 32bit and 64bit versions can be installed on the same machine.

Just beware that you mark the desktop icons accordingly. Re name your 32 bit ICON before the install.
Also you will have to open files using the file menu. If you open from a folder by double clicking the CWP icon you might end up in the wrong version and not know it.

And make sure you know which projects are 32 bit and which are 64 bit.

When I did this a few years back I had two folders for projects: Cakewalk Projects 32 & Cakewalk Projects 64

After awhile you tend to forget which projects are which.

YMMV

No such thing as 32 or 64 bit projects. I think what you mean is which version started the project. But that should not present any problem.
